holla, just thought id update about great barrier island, which was like the best field trip ive been on, even tho i say that after every trip. be my last tho which is sad. but many things have resulted from it including i realised want to do a masters year, but prolly not till 09. we spent heaps of time in the bush measuring and identifying stuff, lookin at way cool views. our group was on these hard out ridges from which we could see all over the island and the sea...so cool! this other day we spent in a wetland, which is like kilometers of metre high grasses. that day i was doin surveyin like how they do around the city? to get height above sea level, we had walkie talkies and everythin. tho after that me and my mate ended up at the wrong end of the wetland, on the sand dunes while everyone else was at the mangroves watching how to do sediment cores. so we got radioed lol, embarassing. but yeah, it was way cool. by the last day we were all pretty tired and bein all immature, havin gotten pissed the night before with illicit alochol according to the camp rules...was good times. oh! and wildlife count included kaka (yay!!), brown teal, an introduced black robin, shearwaters, some skinks and the common dolphin (also yay).

you know, the arctic seems so much cooler than the antarctic. i found this out when looking up caribou (its just reindeer). it has puffins and lemmings and of course polar bears. and eared seals, but i knew that already cos i did a thing on seals once. eared seals are cool, the little floofy ones that cant actually get around on all fours but sorta flop. so i dont know why everyone goes on about the antarctic, i can think of nowhere id rather not go to. every once and a while i get really excited about the wildlife of other countries.

soooo my boyfriend is the sweetest guy in the world as he bought me a bootiful cherry red epiphone sg, for no actual reason! ive only wanted one for many years now. awww it was so sweet! he said it was cos we didnt get to go on holiday this time round, but still! im gonna try pay him back in useful things like clothes (that he wouldnt buy for himself). we took the guitar into the shop today to get it properly set up and restrung, so im gonna miss it for a few days :(
arg, i am trying to figure out what to enroll in for this semester that doesnt mean i will be at uni from 9-5 everyday, which i have been for the last 2 semesters. especially so now, because im working all weekend and i wanna spend as much time as i can with jonnie, as he wont be at uni. so far, the only classes that fit in with my existing schedule are psych 108 which looks cool! and phil 103 and 152 which look hard. i neeeed to ask someone whose done arts. believe me i tried searching for everything and anything else! chem, physics, geo, geology, environmental sciences...but nothing fits. it so sucks.
other than that conundrum ive had ok holidays which involved 21sts and too much drinking, but much fun. also lots of work which was average, and looking after my guy and such, which im sad about, but for now coping, but prolly not when classes start and i get stressed. oh well. its like a time bomb sorta thing. and i think im obsessed with seinfeld. which is so very scary and wrong :(

yaaaay, back at uni. im kinda glad, i was getting bored. but i found out i have a geo test on thursday, so i have wednesday (and tonight at work) to study for it. bio test tomorrow :( and then i have the envsci one on next thurs. after that i think i can relax for a bit.
its my birthday soon!!!! hah, mum was all "hey, since its the holidays, we can have the family gathering for you and scott during the week, during the day!" its like "thats great, mum, but i'll be at uni..." so sunday after next it is. i hate them all and their school holidays...means i have to bus to uni on the uni bus with like, everyone i know >_<
speaking of which, on the bus home this morning, there was this guy and a chick that i didnt know, and they were talking about, like primary and intermediate...
guy: do you remember jeff bavage?
chick: oh yeah.
guy: i havent seen him since form 2.
chick: yeah i havent seen hardly anyone from school. do you remember megan pascoe?
guy: yeah. she works at blockbuster now.
chick: yeah, she does.
ooh, omg, omg, did you know that ac/dc mayyyy be going to the big day out? same with green day. honestly, i would EXPLODE if either of them did. for green day, it fits in with touring with their new stuff. for ac/dc, theyve been here 3 times in 30 years. it would just be too good to be true. you know how it is, you NEVER get to see your favourite bands, well iii dont.

i got stuff today! dirty deeds (first album, not a remastered version so its a bit quiet) by acdc and wizards first rule which is a book....everyone will know, i showed most of the uni gang. its not exciting (to anyone else) at all. i just like new things.
its such a nice day still, and not so windy here as it is in the city. i have to do my assignment/lab. oh, found my worksheet at home, sorry to belle that i dragged all over hsb to find one when i thought id lost mine.
one more day to go till the holidays, hoorah!!!!
went to devonport last night with jonno, it was really nice. we went for a skate which was soooo much fun, as usual, i hadnt been in ages. hes trying to pull off a new move that he saw on dogtown and z boys. invovles turning, handplanting and landing on your arse :) after that we walked up mt victoria and looked at the city, its very pretty at night, from afar.
eek, i cant wait till after my last lecture tomorrow.

im staying over at home ^_^
"back in black, hit the sack, ive been too long im glad to be back, cos im let loose from the noose..."
mum came to the park with me and the dog today. i took the longboard, but every time i tried to skate along the dog chased me, trying to bite the wheels or something. we distracted her with a pinecone (hehe, it was really cute, once, a while back when i was walking her she carried around a pinecone until it was all chewed up, then she carried around a rock). this time it was chasing sarah, carrying a pinecone and jumping in the mud puddle whenever we go by (and after that chasing sarah some more so she also gets wet and muddy). mum had a go at skating as well. its the board. i want one of my own.
after work i watched bright young things...its cuuuute i guess.
can you tell ive become attached to the silly black dog...but i also missed being at home, especially seeing as its so damn cold at the other house.

i am so bored and sleepy...theres something kinda wrong with not being able to get up before midday, and still after that feeling like a zombie *sigh* my eyelids are getting puffy and purple looking.
went to my grandparents place yesterday. it was good to see them, got some eyeliner, left over avon stuff. watched fantasia with my little cousin ^_^ i dig that movie, especially the dinosaurs.
went out monday night with the gang. it had been so long id forgotten i had friends :P quite fun.
i must clean and do washing today, but i really cant be fucked. besides i dont have much time anymore. shame. think i managed to swap my work shifts around for next semester, my night will be monday instead of wednesday...so this will be the last wednesday.
i have the skateboards. i want to go, but not by myself.

they were up on ndeva, i dont know the percentages, but oh my gosh! so happy... i seemed to have underestimated myself.
ee, its such a nice day. i may be going to the movies with my folks and brothers after work ^_^ which would be nice. i seriously havent seen very much of them all.
yeah, spent the last 3 nights with jonathan. last night we went to a hardcore gig. ive never seen such psycho shit dancing. of course jon had to join the circle pit, and he came out with a torn shoe, the canvas separated from the sole. anyway the good thing about hardcore is that the sets are short and the songs are short so 4 bands came and went and i didnt get overly bored. i usually need to drink to be patient enough to watch everything but i was determined not to.
the night before we went skating at mission bay again. maaaan, its so much fun just gliding along for so long you stop thinking about it.
the night before that we were, yet again at the kings arms. strangest performance ever. try 15 ppl from 2 bands on stage in spandex and skirts and fishnets and troll suits and 3d glasses. there was also a fight between 2 members during a song in which one was pushed off the stage violently and they totally laid into eachother.
omg, i HAVE to see deja voodoo, the bleeders and the have on the 30th. i also really must see sommerset...feel like i havent seen enough stuff like that lately.
i was in my cousins room the other day because i was bored. i found her flute and learnt to play. lol, its so fun doing that. im not very good but i can play jingle bells.

afternoon.
i dont really want to go to work. its sunny and warm outside. i'll appreciate that when i go for a walk later. yay, im going home for a while today.
i had the best night on monday. i drove jonathan and i to mission bay. it was my first time on the harbour bridge and in the city! it was so exciting!! although, it was scary when i got trapped in the narrow space between arch and the concrete barrier. it was raining on the way back as well, and i couldnt see the lanes. anyway, at mission bay we skated round the coast on the bikers trail. i really, really love that kind of smooth windy path, its the best.
i was at the petrol station yesterday and the guy was all "ooh, do you do a bit of skating?" (the three boards were still in my car), i was just like "yeh, :$ only really can use the longboard,"
yesterday i was at the mall with shannon, dan, shrenika and nikki, and shopping is fun. im gonna go on thursday night then hook up with jon and go to the kings arms - meatbix and some band that adams gfs friend is in. yeah, i was driving round so much yesterday, in the rain and in the rain at night. lol!! i think one of my headlights is fucked! so now i only have one working headlight and one working rearlight-light at the back, not the brakelight. last night i went to devonport with jon (in his car), it was raining so we couldnt skate :( :( >_< and i drove back. autos are so weird, you like lack control somehow without a clutch. went for a cruise through milford and castor bay. i really, really like to drive. i was telling him, that somehow, being with him makes everything alright, and doing stuff we do like skating and driving makes me feel free and less suffocated in this kind of suburban hell. id really love to just get away from the city for a while, its what i need.
black books is coming on teevee on thursday ^_^ i must tape it. tonight is video night for me, but i am reading some stuff on socrates at the moment as well. weekdays are cool, i watch the muppet show on disney channel.

'rise' is pretty. anyway, also getting the damned and motorhead and more stps...theres just so much i want. how exciting.
dammit, i should be in bed. but now im far to hyped up. i'll like get nothing done tomorrow i just know it. tonight i was drawing a copy of jons motorhead dvd cover. too much distraction, and cant decide what to do on friday night. ive got to go to real groovy though.
ooh, dads just come home. im not gonna make this friends only, and it'll probably come back to bite me on the arse.

worst exam ever. i probably felt better about stats last year (yes i know i passed, but i shouldnt have, really). yeah apart from that today was pretty uneventful. saw a guy trip up, as shan said, which was pretty amusing. oh and we also talked to martin ^_^
but ive lost all motivation to do geology study. just 2 more days, but its so harrrrrrrrd, i hate studying. good news though! starting to plan the weekend already! eeee! i love doing stuff in weekends, havent been out properly in like 2 weeks or something.
oh im bored, ive got nothing to say, im just wasting time.

saturday was the coolest night. jonathan took me skating again, and i can do it properly like down hills and around corners (low extremes, however). we were just in a supermarket carpark, and hes right about the fact that its easier in the dark, because you cant tell your speed. i tried this morning and its like "whoa, shit!" *bail*
im sad, i wont be seeing him for 3 days :( bloody wagger.
spent last night playing spyro 4 and ratchet and clank with scott. we still have rachet and clank, and its really wicked. i figure as long as we have matts ps2 i might exploit the video store for a while. speaking of which, i like lived there all weekend, its all else ive been doing.
this ended up rather blank and unexciting. i hate the beginning of the week.
